Design & planting

From a single bed to the whole property

Design and installation are one job here. The person who plans your beds is the person who picks the plants and watches them go in the ground, so nothing gets lost between the drawing and the yard. Every design is matched to your sun, shade, soil and HOA guidelines.

Foundation plantings

Shrubs and accent plants around the house that frame your home, soften hard edges and stay in scale as they grow.

Privacy screens

Emerald Green Arborvitae, Leyland Cypress and layered mixed screens to block neighbors, buffer road noise and define your property line.

Trees & specimens

Shade trees, ornamental trees and specimen plants placed for long-term health, mature size and the view from inside the house.

Garden & perennial beds

Layered beds of shrubs, perennials and seasonal color designed for interest in every season, not just spring.

Deer-resistant designs

Plant selections that hold up to the deer pressure common across Henrico, Goochland and Hanover.

HOA planting plans

Layouts and species that meet community guidelines, with support preparing the documentation your HOA needs for approval.

Done right

Planted for Virginia clay

Most plant failures in Central Virginia start below ground. Heavy clay holds water, and plants set too deep or in unamended soil struggle for years. That's why the prep matters as much as the plants.

  • Plants hand-selected by Ross from local Virginia nurseries
  • Soil preparation and amending suited to Richmond-area clay
  • Spacing planned for mature size, not just the first season
  • Clean bed edging and fresh mulch to finish every installation
  • Drainage checked before planting, so new roots don't sit in water
  • One-year guarantee on all plant material

Questions

Design & planting FAQ

What does the one-year guarantee cover?

All plant material we install is guaranteed for one full year. If something doesn't make it, we replace it.

When is the best time to plant?

Fall is one of the best planting seasons in Central Virginia, since cooler air and warm soil help roots establish before summer. Spring works well too. We install throughout the growing season and will tell you if a particular plant should wait.

Can you help with HOA approval?

Yes. We design to your community's guidelines and help prepare the planting plan and documentation your HOA needs to approve the project.

Do I need a design before you plant?

Design is part of the job. Ross plans the beds around your home and goals during the consultation and estimate, and our crew installs it under his supervision. If you already have a plan, we can work from that too.

How fast will I get an estimate?

After the free consultation, you'll get a detailed, itemized written estimate within 24–48 hours.
